Introduction to City Women’s College Bhubaneswar
Established in 1986, City Women’s Degree College in Bhubaneswar was founded to serve the educational needs of local women students. The college quickly gained recognition and received government approval in 1991, paving the way for its affiliation with the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha. Initially, the institution focused on arts, accommodating only 128 students.
Growth and Expansion of City Women’s College Bhubaneswar
By the academic year 1994-1995, the college expanded its arts program, growing to three streams, and by 1995-1996 was affiliated with Utkal University. The late 1990s brought noticeable changes, including permission to establish science streams in 2001, which allowed for 64 additional seats and a new focus on academic diversity.

Over the years, City Women’s College has achieved significant milestones, including permanent recognition for its courses. With a student population exceeding 1000 and dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff, the college has entered its silver jubilee year, celebrating 25 years of educational excellence.
