BACHELOR DEGREE PROGRAMMES (3 YEARS)The Bachelor of Science Degree programmes aim at preparing students who wish to join the global movement for protecting Earth’s systems and resources. These programmes are offered with an aim to reach out to the large audience of students and youth that are likely to be both decision makers and beneficiaries with regard to Human Development and Sustainable Development in the next generation. Just as the importance of planning in the welfare State permeated people’s consciousness through the educational curriculum, it is hoped that such academic programmes will help integrate Human Development and Sustainable Development into the main stream debate on development as formulated through university textbooks and research. Only when the concept and practice of these two developments mingle with academic debate and research and consequently give rise to schools of interpretation, can it truly be said to have become a field, as distinct from a fad or preoccupation of a few. The programme will have Foundation Courses in the 1st year, Core Courses in the 2nd year and Applied Courses in the 3rd year spread over 6 semesters in three years. There will be multiple teaching methods including interactive lecture sessions, case analysis, group discussions, interaction with experts and practitioners and use of videos, documentaries and films related to the respective Bachelor Degree Programmes. The programmes will be research based and will also have some practical components.Eligibility CriteriaClass 10+2 60% for General Category55% for SC/ST CategoryPersonal Interview“Candidates with less than 85% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology, may also apply, Selection subject to performance in the personal or Skype interview* ***Domain Knowledge, Sustainability Aptitude, Performance in Co-curricular activites and General awareness will carry extra weight-age.”Programme Structure:The programme will have Foundation Courses in the 1st year, Core Courses in the 2nd year and Applied Courses in the 3rd year spread over 6 semesters in these three years. A student has to earn a total of 150 credits (50 credits in each year)Pedagogy:There will be multiple teaching methods including interactive lecture sessions, case analysis, group discussions, interaction with experts and practitioners and use of videos, documentaries and films related to the respective Bachelor Degree Programmes. The programmes will be research based and will also have some practical components.DegreeThe Xavier University will award the Bachelor’s Degree to the students who successfully complete classroom and field learning equivalent to 150 credits including Research and Internship and fulfill the prescribed academic requirements of the programme. The degree is awarded at the Annual Convocation which is usually held in the month of March/April

MBA IN SUSTAINABILITY MANAGEMENT (MBA – SM)
What it offers?
MBA in Sustainability Management offers unique opportunity to specialize in Sustainability and in any one of the functional areas such as Operations, Marketing, Finance and Accounting.
Program objectives
1.Equip students with an understanding of the conventional economy of production and consumption (and its market equivalent of supply and demand) in the context of conserving and preserving the natural commons.
2.Evolve a deeper understanding of sustainability principles and externalities among next generation of managers with the aim of creating sustainable communities thereby envisioning a better society.
3. Promote Jesuit values of care, peace & greater environmental justice and introduce timely shift in traditional ways of corporate business undertaking in both society and economy incorporating sustainability concerns.
4. Envision the creation of sustainable businesses as a means to emergence of a 21st century world ensuring a deeply connected business and society.
5. Integrate technical knowledge & sustainability parameters in sustainability managers who shall influence responsible businesses and citizenry with a keen involvement in nation building.
6. Encourage businesses and community to incorporate and accelerate sustainability based strategies for economic growth and sustainable human development.
7. Promote involvement of all stakeholders and sectors in following sustainable management practices through a combination of system thinking, leadership engagement and perspective planning.

Doctoral programme in sustainability studies prepares the participants to pursue cutting edge , world class interdisciplinary research.

Master’s degree (or equivalent) in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum of 55% marks or 5.5 on a letter grade system.
