The Foundation of Sathya Sai College for Women
In 1981, a group of devoted Sathya Sai followers recognized the urgent need for a values-based higher education institution for women in Bhubaneswar. As the city rapidly urbanized, the erosion of moral and ethical values became evident, prompting these visionaries to take action. With the blessings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the college commenced its operations within the premises of Sri Sathya Sai High School Unit-III.
Transition to a Dedicated Campus
The college’s journey took a significant turn in 1983 when it relocated to its own expansive and picturesque campus at Pokhariput. This idyllic setting, positioned just 20 meters off a major roadway linking Lingaraj Railway Station to Khandagiri, facilitates easy accessibility. The campus is surrounded by various public sector banks, educational institutions, and necessary amenities, contributing to a supportive environment conducive to learning.
Accreditation and Academic Offerings
As one of the leading non-government aided colleges in Bhubaneswar, Sathya Sai College is affiliated with CHSE (Odisha) for Arts and Science at the higher secondary level and with Rama Devi Women’s University for degree programs. The college proudly achieved NAAC accreditation with a ‘B’ grade in 2009, showcasing its commitment to quality education. It offers honors programs in various subjects, including Economics, English, History, and more, preparing students for both academic and professional success.
