Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for RPF and RPSF
The Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) was introduced under the National Defence Fund by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on August 15, 2005. The scheme aims to promote higher technical and professional education for the dependent wards of Ex/Serving RPF/RPSF personnel and widows (below the Rank of Gazetted officer). The last date to apply for the scholarship is January 15, 2024. A total of 150 scholarships have been earmarked for RPF for the academic session. Out of these, 75 scholarships are reserved for female candidates. In case there is a shortfall in fresh applications, it will not be adjusted from the available number of girls or boys. It is also important to note that any unallocated quota in any gender category cannot be utilized for the other category. The PMSS is applicable for professional degree courses such as BE, B.Tech, BDS, MBBS, BEd, BBS, BCA, MCA, B.Pharma, etc. These courses should be duly recognized by the respective government regulatory bodies like AICTE, MCI, UGC, NCTE, etc. However, master’s degree courses, except for MBA and MCA, are not eligible for the scholarship. Students studying abroad or pursuing distance learning courses are also not eligible for the PMSS. Each student can avail the scholarship for one course only.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have taken regular admission in the 2022-23 academic year and secured 60% and above in the Minimum Entry Qualification (MEQ), which includes 12th Std., Diploma, or Graduation. Only institutes, universities, and colleges regulated by AISHE are permissible for the scholarship. Apply now and take advantage of the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for RPF/RPSF to support your higher education aspirations.
