Stone Center Summer Funding Opportunities for Undergraduate Students in Latin America and the Caribbean
The Stone Center for Latin American Studies at Tulane University is pleased to announce the call for proposals for summer funding opportunities for undergraduate students studying Latin America or the Caribbean. There are three grant categories available: Independent Research, Summer Internships, and Intensive Summer Language Study.
Eligible applicants must be full-time undergraduate students at Tulane University, with a minimum of 9 credit hours of coursework. Non-U.S. citizens are also welcome to apply. Priority will be given to students majoring or minoring in Latin American Studies, as well as those who have not previously received funding from the Stone Center.
The application deadline for all grant programs is March 1, 2024. However, for those interested in the Intensive Language Study program, the priority deadline for FLAS consideration is February 1, 2024.

Before starting their online applications, students should gather all the required materials listed under the “Special Application Requirements” for their chosen funding category.
It is important to note that applications for Independent Research or Intensive Summer Language Study must include a recommendation from a faculty sponsor. The recommendation should be submitted separately via a provided link before the application deadline. Applications without a faculty sponsor recommendation will not be considered.
All applications will be reviewed by a committee of Latin American Studies Faculty and Staff. Applicants can expect to receive a funding decision within one month of the application deadline.
