Media Fellowship for US Based Journalists
The Nova Institute for Health is currently accepting applications for its Media Fellowship program. This fellowship is open to US-based journalists and aims to support projects that explore issues related to health and well-being.
Application Details
The deadline for applications is May 28, 2024, at 11:59 pm EDT. To apply, interested journalists must submit their applications via email to mediafellowships@novainstituteforhealth.org. Complete applications should include a proposal, resume, and work samples, all in PDF format.
Proposal Guidelines
The proposal should be no more than 1,500 words and address the following aspects:
- Project synopsis: Describe the primary issue(s) your project will address, their importance, proposed methods for exploration, and how you expect the project to enlighten audiences, provoke conversations, and offer solutions.
- Story treatment: Outline your approach to the issue(s), expected final products or deliverables, and how the stories or series will be structured.
- Communications/outreach plan: Describe the specific audiences you aim to reach, how you intend to reach them, where and how you expect your work to be published or disseminated, and what you hope to achieve through audience engagement.
- Relevant experiences, aptitude, and values: Explain how your personal and professional experiences, aptitude, and values make you the ideal candidate for this project.
- Outside commitments: Describe any non-fellowship work or educational commitments you have during the fellowship period.
In addition to the proposal, applicants should also include a resume and three relevant samples of their previous work.
Please note that the fellowship is open to US-based journalists only. International issues can be covered in proposals, but only applications from US-based journalists will be accepted in 2024.
